The tiny timber town of Pemberton is located in the beautiful South Western corner of Western Australia.
Recently Pemberton has emerged as an all year round popular adventure tourism and wellbeing destination. Visitors to the area enjoy the outdoors sightseeing, bushwalking, scaling the famous climbing trees, canoeing, fishing and four wheel driving, taking in the vibrant colours of the wildflowers in season and wondering at the misty valleys, lush forests and majesty of the towering karri trees in the surrounding national parks.
Established as one of Australia’s premier wine regions, Pemberton is host to over 50 local wineries and cellar doors; and is renowned for its variety of gourmet local produce including marron and rainbow trout.
The country town of Manjimup has the versatility of being the largest commercial centre between Bunbury and Albany providing visitors with the convenience of familiar “city” facilities; as well as being the gateway to the beauty of the South West tourism region and central hub of the regions horticultural industry.
As the centre of a thriving fruit and vegetable industry, Manjimup is home to the famous “Pink Lady” apple and a great place to pick up fresh produce from the farm gate including apples, pears, peaches, plums, cherries, apricots, nectarines, kiwi fruit, chestnuts, hazelnuts, potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, onions and corn. The latest pursuits in the horticultural industry around Manjimup include farming avocados, green tea and the rare gourmet black truffle.
Manjimup is over eighty percent surrounded by National Parks and visitors can spend time bushwalking, taking forest and ecology tours, wine tasting, or trout and marron fishing.
