While staying at Diamond Forest Cottages why not make it your mission to find the cosiest café with the best hot chocolate in town or head out to a toasty country winery or pub for a hearty comforting meal. Try the Fresh Local Produce at one of the many award winning cafes or restaurants, or buy your supplies direct from the co-op or a roadside stall or farm.
As they say, "Where the wine grapes flourish, so do the good times." Take some time out to visit either the Pemberton Wine Centre or some of the local wineries where you can sample some of the finest wines the Pemberton region has to offer. Some of Mark and Jenny’s favourite wines are from: Lost Lake (Honey Merlot), Hidden River (Late Harvest Riesling), Donnelly River (Mystique Red or Classic White), Mountford (Organic Cider) and The Wine & Truffle Company (Truffle Hill Rose), all within a short drive.
Diamond Forest Cottages is conveniently situated only 10 minutes drive to Manjimup and 15 minutes drive to Pemberton. Manjimup is a sizeable commercial centre with Coles, Woolworths and a small independent grocer for all your grocery needs; all the basic convenience stores that you would expect of a country town including newsagency, post office, fantastic bakery, several banks and even a Target Country; and a lovely lot of specialty needs and boutique stores for your country shopping adventure. Pemberton is a small country town with a small independent grocery store, a bakery and a handful of convenience, boutique and gift stores.
These days there is just one lovely place in Pemberton that allows well behaved dogs to accompany their family for lunch. Hidden River Winery has lovely ambience with a tram car to dine in for added atmosphere; warm, friendly personalised service; children's playground, delicious food, lovely views, delightful wines and a warm welcome for canine companions too.
Although there are others, Jenny & Mark personally recommend...
