The friendly farm animals are a definite highlight of the holiday for the children and also for many adults. The Diamond Forest dogs - wannabe sheepdog Passion, and the real sheepdogs Quinn, Murphy and Kinta will introduce you to Millie, Bambi, Jessie and Fern the Jersey cows along with their calves; Nugget the Jersey bull; Knackers, Mulberry and Boss the sheep and all their crazy flock; Choppa the red kangaroo and Clancy the baby Western grey kangaroo; Flyby the horse (everybody's favourite); Danny the alpaca; Ben the daddy goat and his wives Prue, Ella and June; cheeky Ernie the miniature horse and his wife Katie, a miniature pony; JR and Violet the squeaky donkeys; Graham the turkey and his motley crew; Jake and Molly the galahs with their baby and their aviary full of quails, colourful weeros and budgerigars; and a myriad of ducks, chickens and peafowl. There is a petting zoo where the youngest of children can get to know the animals intimately... Blindy the (blind) duck, baby chickens, ducks and turkeys; and then see if you can remember the names of the eight rabbits... Chelsea Bun and Flopsy; Thumper and Crystal; Vader and Coco; Panda and Sniffles.
The animals are fed daily at 9am and guests are encouraged to participate in the daily routine. The routine changes according to season and to which animals need attention on any particular day. At the height of summer when the paddocks are dry with no feed, hay is fed from the back of the "ute" or animals are relocated to other paddocks where there is more feed. Guests are always excited to help with these activities.
Why not take a look at some of the animals in the photo album?
